Investors In Pupils (September 2017)

In Reception we have talked about how we would like our classrooms to be and how we expect children (and teachers!) to behave in school. These are our pupil and teacher promises, class vision and class targets.

Teachers: Mrs Ajayi (RA) & Mrs Wilkinson (RW)

Other adults who work in Reception: Miss Waddington (HLTA), Ms Foster, Miss Lawrence, Mrs Abbott, Mrs Campbell, Miss Dale, Miss Ijaz, Miss Jones, Miss McQuillan, Miss Middleton, Miss Sims, Mrs Smith, Ms Urch

Homework: Reading books changed weekly. It would be great if you could hear your child read 3 times a week.
Family Fun Books - half termly activities are suggested and you are welcome to include anything you and your child have enjoyed together including WOW moments. Time is set aside for children to show and tell their family fun books.

PE days: Please ensure your child brings their PE kits to school at the start of each half term.
RA have PE on Tuesday afternoons.
RW have PE on Monday mornings.

Music days: Singing with Mrs Higgins - Tuesday afternoons

Scooter Track Day: Reception are welcome to use the scooter track after school, as long as they have parental supervision at all times.

Outdoor Learning aka 'Welly Friday': Reception enjoy a session exploring our fabulous grounds every Friday come rain or shine; in addition to our free-flow outdoor provision. Please ensure your child has suitable outerwear and wellies. There is no such thing as bad weather - only inappropriate clothing!

Themes for the year:
Autumn 1: All about me!
Autumn 2: Celebrations
Spring 1: Super heroes
Spring 2: Mini beasts and animals
Summer 1: Pirates
Summer 2: Holidays

Themes are subject to change

We have an open door policy so please feel free to speak to any of our Reception team.
