WELCOME TO IRELAND WOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL

Ireland Wood Primary School is a well established and successful school. It has a reputation for offering children an excellent education in a stable, ordered, healthy inclusive and happy environment.

Our school is very much part of the local community and is perceived as a friendly, welcoming place – a popular choice for many parents. We strive to maintain an ethos where each individual is valued and where the education of the whole child - spiritual, moral, mental, physical, social and emotional - is catered for. It is our aim to bring out the best in every child we teach.

We are committed to enriching the curriculum with visiting speakers, school visits, productions, school clubs, sports and peripatetic music lessons. We play an active role in our Family of Schools, working alongside other schools in the area to provide activities, which enhance the curriculum. We are proud also to be an integral part of both the St Mary’s School Sports Partnership and the Airedale and Wharfedale Sports Association, which enable our children to have access to a variety of sporting opportunities.

We encourage the involvement of parents as our partners in the education process and value their participation in the life of Ireland Wood. Our parents work hard to support the school and a very active Parent Teacher Association raises funds to provide extra equipment. Indeed our last Ofsted report cited our partnership with parents as a real strength of the school.

We trust that Ireland Wood will provide both a stimulating educational environment and a caring community where children can fulfil their potential and develop a genuine concern for the needs of others.

We welcome your interest in our school and if you require more information we will be pleased to answer your enquiries.
