Telling the TIME

Last term we spent quite a bit of time practising telling the time in maths. The children have practised telling o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to times. We moved on to telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes and then to the nearest minute. The children made their own clocks to take home so that they could practise telling the time at home.
Topic
This term we have been thinking about the question, Why do so many people holiday in the Mediterranean? We have used maps and atlases to locate Europe and the countries which make up the Mediterranean area.
Mediterranean watercolours!

We looked at the physical characteristics of the Mediterranean and sketched and painted watercolour pictures of the area. We also compared the Mediterranean to the Yorkshire coast and found lots of similarities and differences between the two areas.

European Landmarks

Some children have made models of European landmarks for homework this term.
