We started researching, designing and making our mascots during SATs week. We are all very proud of the end results!

As part of an enterprise project, the Y6s held their own fun stalls to raise money at Summer Fair number 2! Such a lot of hard work and patience went into these!

Here are some pictures of our Bugsy Dress rehearsal - and some of the night performance too. The children did brilliantly - I was so proud of the standard they performed to.

EU Referendum at IWPS! After spending nearly two weeks researching facts and figures about the EU, children in Y6 presented a full debate (and question time) to their Y5 peers. They all did very well learning about the key issues our country is facing and presented themselves thoughtfully during the debate. The Y5 children were a fantastic audience, taking all of this ‘political stuff’ in their strides; they listened with interest and made excellent comments as the debate moved on. At the end, all children were asked to cast a vote: Remain or Stay. And the Remain team won, by quite a majority. It is interesting to compare with the nation's response! Well done to all involved – we are proud you took such an interest!

Leeds Rhinos offered us some free tickets for Y6 children (and a parent each) to go along to a show at the Carriageworks Theatre, which featured Jamie Jones-Buchanan. The children were told that I would be rewarding six children, who make a consistent effort in all their work (and play!). A fun time was certainly had!

This seemed to be the quickest way of getting it to everyone, as I forgot to give them out yesterday.... I am so sorry for the delay.

Following our SATs, we had a splendid day at Yeadon Tarn - raft building, orienteering, problem solving and laughing. A lot of laughing!
