Our final literacy topic this half term has been 'The Grinch who stole Christmas' by Dr. Seuss. We have made invitations to the Grinch for next year's 'Whobalation'. Which invitation is your favourite?
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Eden Camp. There was so much information to take in and the children absorbed as much as they could as they explored the grounds of the prisoner of war camp. We look forward to following up our learning now in class.
The session was a success with both children and parents enjoying solving word problems using methods from our calculations policy.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our topic on Journeys and Aboriginal culture which ended with a fantastic art workshop. We had a special visitor named Sandra who taught us about the Bagu (a traditional fireboard). We then had the chance to make our own firesticks which look fantastic!
Short clips of the making process plus us singing along to 'Waltzing Matilda'.
Here we are working on our IIP display with an 'Up' movie theme. The children made papier mache balloons which they then painted in bright colours. We went on to make the baskets in numeracy lessons learning about 3D nets of shapes. More photos to follow of our completed models!
We have designed our own anti cyber-bully mascots, learnt a song called 'Hey Bully' and have made special bunting to put up around school. And we still have lots of other anti-bullying activities to enjoy!
We learned this song for anti-bullying week. We really enjoyed practicing it.
